Our Story
Meet Ryan Pace — Owner & Founder
Green Thumb Landscaping & Hardscaping is a locally owned, fully insured landscaping and hardscaping contractor based in Charlottesville, Virginia. Founded in 2018 by Ryan Pace, the business has served Charlottesville, Albemarle County, and the surrounding areas ever since.
From the time he could walk, Ryan loved working outside. He started cutting neighbors' lawns in Glenmore (Keswick, VA) at age 12, grew that into a degree in Turf Management and Horticulture from Virginia Tech, and opened Green Thumb in 2018. He's still in the field leading a crew — mowing, mulching, or building a patio — every week.
What started as a one-man operation has grown into a full-service landscaping and hardscaping company, but the philosophy hasn't changed: show up, do the work right, and treat every property like it's your own. Green Thumb keeps the same crew on your property visit after visit, rather than rotating strangers through your yard.
